Lauri Stenroth is currently finalising his PhD in Biomechanics at the University of Jyväskylä, Finland. and expects to graduate in spring 2016.

His thesis deals with muscle and tendon adaptation and function and implications on performance in older adults. His passion in research lies within tendon function and adaptation and is also highly interested how improved knowledge about tendons can be applied to injury prevention and rehabilitation.

Besides his thesis topic, he has been active in studying Achilles tendon rupture patients and function of healthy tendon in relation to possible injury mechanisms.

As a former national level high jumper and coach he can relate scientific knowledge to applied areas such as prevention and rehabilitation of injuries and physical performance in both general populations and in elite athletes.
